Lucknow, UP: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Uttar Pradesh Police has initiated a formal investigation into multiple property fraud allegations against real estate firm Ansal API. The move marks a significant development in Lucknow's real estate landscape, which has recently seen a mixture of rapid development and rising legal scrutiny.
According to Hindustan Times, several homebuyers and investors have lodged complaints accusing Ansal API of defaulting on possession timelines, providing substandard construction, and misrepresenting project approvals. The scale of complaints has prompted the EOW to register cases and begin a thorough probe into both the financial dealings and project execution practices of the developer.
The allegations, if proven, pose serious implications for not only Ansal API’s credibility but also for broader investor confidence in Lucknow’s real estate market — a sector that has otherwise shown strong growth amid infrastructural upgrades like the metro expansion and newer expressways linking the city to neighbouring districts.
